People may need counselling when life feels overwhelming, confusing, or difficult to manage alone. Challenges such as stress, loss, relationship issues, or changes in mental health can affect how someone thinks, feels, and behaves. Counselling offers a safe, supportive space to explore these experiences, gain understanding, and develop healthier ways of coping.
About me and my practice
I am passionate about creating a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where people feel heard, supported, and empowered to make positive changes in their lives.
Im a MBACP qualified UK-based counsellor and trauma therapist, specialising in mental health support, emotional wellbeing, and trauma-focused counselling. My goal is to provide a safe, confidential space where you can explore your experiences, process emotions, and begin your journey toward healing and personal growth.
My approach is integrative, trauma-informed, holistic, humanistic and person-centred, supporting individuals dealing with anxiety, stress, low mood, relationship challenges, and the effects of past and present trauma.
Experience
With over 23 years of experience in the Mental Health sector, I have dedicated my career to supporting individuals through some of lifes most challenging moments. I began my professional journey within the NHS, working as part of a large multidisciplinary Community Mental Health Team, supporting individuals with complex needs and clinical mental health diagnoses.
Over the years, I have also worked with several well-respected charitable organisations, including MIND, Carers Centres, and the Drugs and Alcohol Services for London. My work in these settings has focused on one-to-one counselling for people dealing with a wide range of issues, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance dependency and gambling.
In addition to my 1:1 counselling private practice, I have extensive experience supporting carers, young people, and university students, as well as providing counselling through Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs) to employees across various sectors.
Qualifications
I hold a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and a BACP recognised Diploma in Gestalt Counselling.
I am a BACP registered counsellor, accredited by the Professional Standards Authority, and by the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), ensuring the highest professional and ethical standards.
