Looking for the right counsellor for you is the first step to getting the support you need. As an integrative counsellor I am able to use a variety of techniques to help you to explore your thoughts and feelings in order to improve your mental health. Whether it is stress, burnout, anxiety, bereavement, abuse or another reason for your current struggles I am here to listen and help to support you through the difficult times.
About me and my practice
As an integrative counsellor I understand there isn't a one size fits all approach when it comes to your mental health. While the main theory I use is a person centred approach which means that you are the expert on your own experiences and you will lead on what we focus on during our sessions, I am also able to use other theories that may help support you. For example, you may be struggling with stress, anxiety or panic attacks and while you will need time to explore the reasons behind the way that you are feeling you may also like guidance and strategies to help you to cope with the feelings.
By using an integrative approach I am able to tailor our work together to help support you in the best possible way while also adhering to the BACP code of Ethics.
I am not here to judge you or tell you what to do but I will offer understanding and empathy while supporting you through this process of self exploration, in a confidential space and at your own pace.
I am passionate about my work, I am always learning new information or techniques. This means I can support you in a way that fits best for you, to help you through the tough times that life puts in your path.
I can offer face to face, telephone or video call sessions.
Please feel free to call, text or email me to arrange a free initial consultation to see if I am the right fit for you. I look forward to hearing from you.
Experience
I have experience from volunteering at a drug and alcohol service supporting clients with a variety of mental health concerns including exploring their past and how that lead to their current situation, anxiety and stress, relationships with the people in their lives and how to move forward while going through recovery.
I also have experience working with adult carers, supporting these clients with bereavement and loss of self, anxiety, and changes to their relationships among other issues.
I have worked with clients around domestic abuse both physical and emotional, stress, burnout, traumatic bereavements, relationships and attachment styles.
I work with clients via telephone and online using video calls on Teams and WhatsApp, as well as working face to face. This allows you to meet me in the way you feel most comfortable.
