About me and my practice
Before starting work as a counsellor, I worked in community development and managing charities. My experience in the workplace really helps when I have clients with work issues. I have also been involved setting up and managing women's refuges and feel passionately about any abuses of power.
Based in Southsea, I now work with individuals with a wide range of issues and aim to empower them to make the changes they need.
I have a solution focused approach. In the first session, we agree a draft plan together.
Experience
I first started training in NLP in the late 1990's and became an NLP Master Practitioner in 2001. I completed my Diploma in Humanistic counselling in 2004 and began to work with clients full time. I spent several years counselling NHS staff at the local hospital. I also work with Employee Assistance referrals.
Over the years, I have done a lot of more specialised training and tackle some issues that some counsellors avoid like trauma and PTSD or ME.
