Hello, Im Kam, a qualified integrative and relational counsellor with four years of professional counselling experience and 18 years of dedicated work in supportive roles for individuals facing mild to moderate mental health challenges. My passion lies in helping people and empowering them to find solutions to their problems.
Throughout my career, I have worked with diverse communities and individuals facing a variety of life issues. My specialty is cultural sensitivity, and I am deeply committed to providing support that respects and understands different cultural norms. As a woman of colour from an ethnic minority background, I bring a relatable perspective to my clients, particularly women and mothers, understanding the unique challenges they face.
In my practice, I focus on seeing each person for who they truly are, helping them to understand and appreciate their true essence. My approach is integrative, blending various therapeutic techniques with a relational focus to build strong, supportive connections. Additionally, I incorporate coaching elements into my counselling to motivate and guide clients in making meaningful life changes.

Experience
As a qualified counsellor, I have extensive experience working with diverse communities facing a wide range of mental health issues. My background includes significant roles within charities, youth services, and organizations specifically supporting marginalized societies. I have worked with clients in harmful situations such as domestic violence and those with suicidal ideation. I have also provided Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services, where I employed a clinical approach and a more directive, brief solution-focused counselling and assessment method.
I have successfully run my own private practice for several years, providing therapy to both individuals and couples. My counselling approach is integrative, aiming to support my clients holistically. By combining various therapeutic techniques, I tailor my methods to meet the unique needs of each client, fostering their growth and resilience in a compassionate and supportive environment.
I have worked as a mentor within a Student Services, supporting young people in higher education with specialized needs. This role allows me to assist students in navigating the unique challenges they face, promoting their well-being and academic success.
With 18 years of experience, I have dedicated my career to supporting individuals presenting with poor mental health and destructive behaviors, often in crisis situations. My work spans the criminal justice system and public services, where I have engaged extensively with offending behavior, rehabilitative work, and pro-social interventions. My roles have included safeguarding adults and children, addressing addictions, and supporting those affected by domestic violence. I have applied trauma-informed practices throughout my career to ensure sensitive and effective support.

I am a BACP registered counsellor, I am committed to maintaining the highest professional standards in all my work, providing compassionate and evidence-based care to those in need.
I hold a diploma in integrative counselling, which I earned four years ago, and I have accumulated a diverse range of qualifications throughout my career. These include certificates in counselling studies, counselling skills, couples counselling, probation work, pro-social interventions, motivational interviewing, suicidal awareness, domestic violence, brief solution-focused therapy, and LGBTQIA+ support.
These qualifications enable me to provide comprehensive, empathetic, and effective counselling services tailored to meet the varied needs of my clients.

Initial Consultation
In your first counselling session with me, you can expect a friendly face and voice and a safe, non-judgmental space where you can talk freely and be heard. I will provide a listening ear and offer you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about therapy and my approach. We will go over a brief overview of how therapy works and take the time to get to know you and understand your reasons for seeking therapy. My goal is to empower you by helping you see how therapy can support your personal goals, fostering a collaborative environment where your growth and well-being are the primary focus.

Shorter Individual session (as apart of Brief Solution Focus Therapy maximum 6 sessions) via Online & Telephone 30 mins- £30
Individual sessions delivered via Online & Telephone - £60
Individual sessions delivered in person - £75
Couple sessions delivered via Online- £90
Couple sessions delivered via in person- £115
CONCESSIONS are available to those on low incomes, students and pensioners.
