About me and my practice
I am a fully Qualified Counsellor and Registered Member of the BACP on their Accredited Register. I have been practising for 15 years and have accrued in excess of 4000 client hours to date.
I work with Adults,Older Teenagers,Couples and Families.
I offer short or long term therapy depending on the specific needs of the client.
I have specialised experience in Domestic/Sexual Abuse, Trauma, PTSD, Parenting and ACES (Adverse Childhood Experiences.)
I work with a wide variety of issues including mental health disorders,anxiety/depression, stress,emotional dysregulation, work related issues, low self esteem/self confidence,suicidal ideation, self harm,loneliness, panic attacks,post natal depression, women's issues,pregnancy and abortion, anger management, relationship issues,behavioural issues, grief and loss, OCD, phobias disordered eating, bullying, sexuality, attachment disorder, body dysmorphia, weight issues, disabilities, adoption, addictions.
I consider myself to be an integrative Counsellor which allows flexibility to combine different ways of working,tailored to individual needs.This may include exploring past experiences,inner child work, working with different parts of self, CBT to help reframe negative thoughts.
In my practice, I like to offer a variety of therapeutic tools to enhance the counselling experience. These may include simple worksheets and creative therapy to explore difficult feelings, as a way of gaining clarity and promoting emotional healing.
I comply fully with the GPDR (General Data Protection) and hold a current ICO (Information Commissioner's Office Certificate).
I also hold a current Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Certificate which enables me to work with Young Adults and Vulnerable Adults.
I undertake ongoing CPD (Continuing Professional Development) which helps me to improve my knowledge and to maintain the latest theory and practices.
I am fully insured and receive regular ongoing supervision.
Experience
Previous counselling roles have included Counselling for Women's Aid, CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service), Action for Children, and Flying Start in North Wales.
Flying Start spanned 7 years, where I worked as a sole independent practitioner responsible for the establishment and operation of a counselling service to support disadvantaged families. This service provided early intervention and prevention, supporting families in distress, and aiming to tackle deprivation and reduce the need for more specialist intervention from Adult Mental Health Services.
I currently work as an Independent Counsellor contracted to the Police providing therapy both online and in person to police staff at all levels.
I also run a private practice both in person and online via Teams/What's App video, based in Warrington, Cheshire.

Relationship Counselling: £60 per hour payable by bank transfer
