Perhaps you spend a lot of time overthinking, feel overwhelmed by everyday life, or find yourself repeating patterns in relationships that you don't fully understand. You might be so used to putting others first that youve lost touch with your own needs. Im Angela, an experienced BACP registered counsellor offering a warm, compassionate space where you can feel heard, explore whats happening for you and begin to make sense of things, at your own pace.
About me and my practice
Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, particularly if youre used to managing things on your own or arent quite sure where to begin. You dont need to have all the answers, know exactly what you want to talk about, or find the perfect words. We can start wherever you are.
Im Angela, a BACP-registered counsellor with over six years of experience supporting adults through difficult and sometimes overwhelming periods of their lives. I offer online counselling across the UK, providing a confidential, non-judgemental space where you can talk openly and feel accepted as you are.
I work with people experiencing anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties and the lasting effects of difficult childhood experiences. You might struggle with self-blame, find it hard to set boundaries, or notice yourself falling into familiar patterns that leave you feeling stuck. I also have a particular interest in ADHD and neurodivergence, including the impact these experiences can have on your sense of identity, relationships and everyday life.
My approach is person-centred and humanistic, which means our work begins with you: your experiences, feelings, needs and hopes. I draw on additional therapeutic approaches where helpful, adapting our sessions to suit you rather than expecting you to fit a particular model. I believe the relationship we build together is an important part of the process, and that feeling genuinely heard can be a meaningful starting point for change.
I understand that opening up isnt always easy. You might need time to find the words, sit quietly with a feeling, or explore something youve never felt able to share before. There is no pressure to rush, and you wont be judged for what youre feeling or experiencing.
My aim isnt to tell you how to live your life, but to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, recognise what matters to you and find a way forward that feels right for you.
Experience
I have six years of experience working as a counsellor, supporting adults through a range of emotional and psychological difficulties. My work includes anxiety, low mood, self-esteem, relationship difficulties and the impact of childhood experiences on adult life.
I have a particular interest in working with people who struggle with self-blame, boundaries, people-pleasing and patterns in relationships that can be difficult to understand or change. I recognise how early experiences can shape the way we see ourselves and relate to others, and I offer a compassionate space to explore these experiences without judgement.
I also have an interest in ADHD and neurodivergence, including the impact these can have on identity, emotional wellbeing, relationships and everyday life. I aim to work in a flexible and understanding way, recognising that everyone communicates, processes experiences and engages with therapy differently.
My approach is person-centred and humanistic, informed by ongoing professional development and additional therapeutic approaches. I aim to build a trusting therapeutic relationship where clients feel heard, respected and able to explore what matters to them at their own pace.
I offer online counselling to adults across the UK, making therapy accessible from the comfort and privacy of your own space.
