Hi, my names Kev and I work with anyone that would like somewhere to come and figure things out. Either Face-2-Face or online (evenings and weekends). Drop me a call/email and we can look at what works best for you.
About me and my practice
Hi, I'm Kev. I'm a qualified counsellor and live and work in the Blackpool Fylde & Wyre / Preston area.
A little about me? Well, I could tell you about qualifications as a counsellor and how long I've studied, but I doubt this will give you any indication as to how well we may be able to work together.
So here is a little of how I see counselling.
Having been in therapy myself for many years, I believe in having a place to explore our experiences, thoughts and feelings, in a safe and non-judgmental space where confidentiality is key.
Sometimes it can be difficult to figure out what might be happening and/or what's best for us with those we are closest with. Though many of them have good intentions, some of what we think and feel may be too much for them to explore what we are trying to say and in turn, we tend to keep those innermost thoughts and feelings bottled up and buried.
I believe in the approach of Person-Centred Therapy (PCT) which focuses on you as the centre and driver of your life. You know yourself better than anyone, so who better to decide what's best for you, than you. Therefore, by placing ourselves in that space, it opens us up to what might really be happening. This can then help to decide for ourselves what's best for us.
This approach is not about telling you what to do, nor advice-giving but about the conditions being right for you to think for yourself what you need. Therapy can be very challenging, however, I believe that absolutely everyone can benefit from coming and being in this process.
I am personally open to working with many issues, though if there is something I feel may be better placed with other services I would recommend this and discuss further with you.
Hope the above connects with you in some way and look forward to hearing from you.
