If you have suffered a bereavement and are grieving the loss of a loved one; if you are dealing with the loss of a relationship; if you are facing a life-threatening or life-changing health issue such as a cancer diagnosis, you may be feeling that "life will never be the same again". Counselling can help you work through the chaos, confusion and painful feelings of today, so you move forward with hope and a level of normality in your life.
About me and my practice
It is you who knows best what is hurting, your experience, and what this is like for you. I work with whatever you bring to the sessions, and at your own pace.
The value I place in the relationship I build with you as my client is at the core of my practice and our therapeutic work. It is this relationship that navigates the journey towards personal growth and change as you move forward. It is a collaborative relationship, built on trust and mutual respect. For you as my client it is also an investment in your own self-care and wellbeing.
I work one-to-one with adults of all ages and backgrounds for short-term or long-term therapy. I work from a private and confidential space in my home.
Short-term usually involves working together for 6-12 weeks. Long-term work will be explored together, reviewing regularly and working towards an agreed ending when this feels appropriate.
Experience
I am entering my 7th year of working in private practice, during which time I have experience of working with a range of issues, including anxiety, stress, low self-esteem and relationship issues. During this time I have developed a personal interest in working with grief, loss and supporting those affected by cancer.
I have worked extensively online and by telephone with clients since March 2020, and offer a flexible way of working so that you can attend sessions purely to one preference, or a combination.

Initial Consultation
I understand what a big step you are taking in reaching out for help. It is therefore very important that you choose someone you can connect with and who feels right for you.
Our first session is an opportunity for us to talk about what has brought you to counselling, to discuss in more detail your needs and hopes, and how we might take things from there. This session will also give us a sense of what it would be like to work together. There is no commitment to continue beyond the first session - it is important that we both feel we can work together and we are clear about the support I can offer you for the issues that you want to work through.
You are welcome to email me if you would like to take that first step.
Fees
Initial Consultation (1 hour): £55
