Do you feel anxious about saying no to others, always say sorry when you've done nothing wrong, avoid confrontations and feel it's your job to keep the peace? Trying to be liked and approved of in this way is exhausting. Would you like to understand this aspect of your character and get support to set healthy boundaries and say no when needed?
About me and my practice
My priority is helping people who are struggling with difficult experiences or relationships in their lives and feel they would like to improve their relationship with themselves and others.
Together we will find understanding and perspective along with focused tools and strategies to take with you as you move forward in life.
Personal development is ongoing throughout our lives and counselling helps us to become more confident in our abilities to manage life's challenges.
Experience
I qualified from the University of Abertay in Dundee with a Masters degree in Counselling. Since then I have been helping people from all walks of life when they need support.
I have a great deal of life experience and have found this to be an invaluable resource when listening to people tell their unique stories. We have evolved as social beings to support one other and I believe we all need kindness, compassion, support and encouragement - without judgment- and this is what I aim to offer everyone who comes to me for counselling.
Qualifications
MSc in Counselling (Distinction), BA (Hons) History
Additional Information
My working life has been varied and enjoyable. In particular I always enjoyed my interactions with others and the psychology of the many different relationships at work, with friends and family. Learning how to communicate in a healthy way with ourselves and others can improve our lives in many ways.

Initial Consultation
The first session is a little different from other sessions. We'll begin to get to know each other a little. It's very important that you feel safe, comfortable and respected, listened to without judgment. I'll explain my approach to counselling, discuss confidentiality and our contract for working together. We'll discuss why you have come for counselling, what you would like to achieve, your concerns, challenges and goals so that I can support you in the best way possible. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions in this session and throughout your counselling; I am always open to feedback. You can discuss any preferences you might have for counselling, for example, you may not want to use worksheets as resources or look at early childhood experiences.
Fees
My fee is £50 per session, payable prior to your appointments.
When I Work
I work Thursday mornings and in the evenings on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
