My Clinical Supervisor senses Clients are propelled along on a wave of warmth- Clients find me easy to talk with - My counselling approach means that I can use a proven tool-box of techniques drawing from relevant theoretical approaches e.g. Humanistic / Rogerian, Working with a Wounded Inner Child, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychoanalytic, Transactional Analysis (life positions), Neurolinguistic Programming , tailored to your personal needs and with what you are comfortable using.
About me and my practice
"You will face many defeats in life but NEVER let yourself be defeated!" Maya Angelou, 'And Still I Rise'
I called my practice Pagoda Counselling as it struck me that the pagoda structure is said to be one of the safest structures with its strong central core the floors can wobble when experiencing a storm, earthquake but the pagoda survives...
Your central core is your self-belief, self-confidence and esteem and this counsellor is driven to help you nurture your inner core so you are ready to fly and travel towards reaching your potential...
Whether troubled by depression or anxiety or striving to become a Survivor of Domestic Violence be it physical, emotional, coercive control or trying to overcome trauma such as involvement in a traffic collision, work stress, exam stress, dealing with bullying, bereavement, discovering how to thrive with neurodiversity, finding your own identity -
Demonstrating I can 'walk the walk' Clients with a spectrum of issues have progressed to positive outcomes...
Experience
In addition to Counselling training I have a relatively wide life experience which helps me relate to my Clients.
My journey has had stops at academic pressures, work stresses having had senior managerial level roles, domestic abuse, coping with family illness and caring, being diagnosed with a life-limiting heart condition and being declared disabled... But still I rise!!
I can relate to Client problems, maybe helping to help them feel relaxed, unjudged and valued - their Counsellor 'gets me' but it is clear that you are you and you seek, need assistance to reach your own answers to what will help you overcome what troubles you.
My training means I walk the walk in using proven techniques to help you move forward.
The fact that I am medically disabled which blew my life apart but I am a living example of resilience, an example of look I am still trying to move forward and gain value from helping to nurture others and am constantly impressed by the efforts and achievements I witness!
Maybe I may be the right person to help you resolve what troubles you too?
