About me and my practice
I work face to face and online Tuesday to Thursday.
I also offer walk and talk sessions.
Day and evening appointments are available.

About Me
Before becoming a Counsellor, my background was in Research & Development. I have 28+ years experience of working in large and small corporates.
I also have my own experience of counselling and know how scary it can feel to take the first step to find a counsellor.
In my late 20s, I suffered with depression, and whilst I did take anti-depressants which helped, I never addressed the root causes, as I was too embarrassed to see a counsellor. There was a lot more stigma around mental health then, but I also carried a lot of shame which was a huge barrier for me. I felt better over time and soldiered on with life and career. In my early 40s, I had a stressful role at work, and stress turned to anxiety, turned to near burnout. This time I did seek counselling and it was such a positive experience for me, that I decided I wanted to help other people in the same way it had helped me. I retrained after 25+ years in a corporate career. I draw on my own experiences to help others, but we each are unique and I'm here to listen to you and support you in a tailored way that suits you.
Qualifications
I am a BACP Individual Member, with experience working in a GP practice, a local male prison and a charity supporting disabled children and their parents/carers.
Counselling Qualification: Level 5 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
I also have a BSc in Biochemisty, Microbiology and Nutrition from the University of Nottingham and an MBA from the Open University.
Additional Information
I do not have disabled access to my therapy room, however I do offer online sessions using Google Meet.

Initial Consultation
I offer a 20 minute free introductory call. This is for you to tell me a little bit of why you want to come to counselling and to ask me any questions. There is no obligation to commit.
Fees
Fees are £60 for in-person and online.
Fees are £70 for walk and talk therapy.
When I Work
I work Tuesday to Thursday 9am to 8pm.
