About me and my practice
My core approach to counselling is rooted in psychodynamic principles, which emphasise the importance of unconscious processes and early life experiences in shaping our present behaviour and emotions. Through a collaborative and empathetic therapeutic relationship, we will work together to uncover hidden patterns, understand the underlying causes of your difficulties, and foster meaningful change.
However, I recognise the diverse needs and preferences of clients, and as such, integrate other therapeutic modalities as appropriate to address your unique needs, preferences, specific concerns and goals. The choice of modalities is tailored to your unique needs, preferences, and therapeutic goals, ensuring a personalised and holistic approach to healing and growth. By integrating diverse therapeutic techniques, I strive to provide comprehensive support, empowering you to navigate your challenges, cultivate resilience, and live a fulfilling life.
Experience
As a counsellor, I have supported clients in a range of settings, including the NHS, private practice, employee assistance programmes (EAP), and therapeutic groups. Clients have come with many different concerns, such as anxiety, low mood, stress and burnout, addiction, loss and bereavement (including baby and child loss), relationship and intimacy issues, identity struggles, and periods of feeling stuck or overwhelmed.
