I believe that personal experiences, like fingerprints, are unique
I aim to support and empower women to live the life they most want to live using counselling and psychotherapy.
It may be that you are not yet sure if counselling is for you.
Perhaps you have never sought support before.
Maybe you don't know why you are struggling at the moment.
Or perhaps you have had therapy in the past and want to revisit the process again. Contact me to find out how I can support you.
There are thousands of self-employed counsellors in the UK who will work with you online via video call (e.g. Zoom, FaceTime, WhatsApp, etc.)
Find a therapist who is actually available!
Anyone who has ever tried to find a therapist knows that finding one who is actually available can be an incredibly frustrating part of the process.
You invest your time and energy, carefully perusing hundreds of therapists’ profiles and websites, and then you finally muster up the courage to contact two or three that you like the look of, only then to find out that they do not have any availability, or even worse, that they do not reply to your enquiry.
Counsellingo is a UK directory of1121independent professional counsellors and psychotherapists.
At Counsellingo, we check the current availability of every therapist on a weekly basis to ensure that it is always accurate, and that they genuinely do want to receive enquiries. Surprisingly, Counsellingo is the only counselling directory that does this.
You can search the therapists for specific keywords and/or #hashtags, or any combination of keywords and/or #hashtags, or you can browse all of the therapists that currently have availability.
Counselling is not a regulated profession, however, there is an independent organisation that protects the public and is accountable to the UK parliament. The organisation is the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care, also known as the PSA.
Every Counsellingo therapist's profile includes a link to their professional register so that you can verify their status for yourself. We also manually re-check every therapist's registration annually. Again, Counsellingo is the only counselling directory that does this.
Counsellingo is not a platform or an intermediary. Your relationship with your therapist is confidential and direct. We are not a third-party, and we do not have access to, nor do we collect, any client data.
FYI: Platforms such as BetterHelp refer to clients as “members”, and they collect, store, process, and share, their members' personal data.
Counsellingo is free of charge. There are no fees for an entry in the directory and there are no commissions for referrals. There are additional premium services available for registered therapists.
You can register as a therapist if you offer video therapy sessions online, either exclusively, or as part of a hybrid practice, using your own choice of video platform(s).
Counsellingo is the brainchild of “dot com” pioneer John Witney, co-founder of the world's first internet recruitment service JobServe. John has a BA (Hons) Degree in Counselling, is a Registered Member of the BACP, and has been a practising counsellor for over sixteen years.
